Hermione FitzGerald is a 30 year old professional golfer.
After taking up golf in Dubai at the age of eight, Hermione was bitten by the golf bug!
Having worked at Carton House Golf Club, outside Dublin, Ireland, Hermione was fortunate enough to be invited to play in the JP McManus Invitational Pro-Am in Limerick where she was partnered Fred Couples and Rich Beem. The experience of playing in front of large crowds amidst professional golfers was what made Hermione decide that more than anything she wanted to play golf professionally.
Since turning professional in 2011, Hermione has had her fair share of misfortune and injuries, but has shown great determination, and some might say stubbornness and got back on the golf course competing well at a professional level when doctors and surgeons said otherwise.
In April 2013 Hermione competed in her first event in over two years. By June she won her first event on the Jamega Ladies Tour, and then went on two win another two events over the season. She also competed extremely well in the Pre Qualifying Stage with the Ricoh British Ladies Open. She came 5th in a field of 140, and comfortably made the cut for the Final Qualifying Stage which was held at Kingsbarns, Scotland.
In 2014, Hermione once again qualified for the Final Stage of the Ricoh British Ladies Open, as well as some very good rounds and cuts made on the LET Access Tour including a -4 in the Strasbourg Open.
In 2015 Hermione will compete on the Sunshine Ladies Tour in South Africa, and on the LET Access Tour.
